Privacy Policy

At Universal APK Installer, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how Meiratic ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, processes, and protects your information when you use our Universal APK Installer mobile application (the "App") and our related services (the "Services").

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading and using our App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect & Process

To provide our core services, we collect non-personal and limited device-related technical information. Because our App runs locally on your Android device to install package files, we do not require a user account, registration, or your name and email to perform installations.

A. Device and Technical Information

We may automatically collect technical details about your device and app usage, including:

  • Device manufacturer, model, and hardware details;
  • Operating system version;
  • Device language and region settings;
  • App performance metrics (crash logs, loading speed, and memory usage);

This information is collected through the following Google Firebase services:

  • Firebase Crashlytics: To help us identify and fix technical issues. This service is enabled by default but can be disabled on first launch.
  • Firebase Analytics: To monitor anonymized app usage metrics such as active users and session duration. This service is optional and requires your explicit consent on first launch.

You can view Google's privacy policy at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

B. Device Storage Permissions (Required for Core Functionality)

To detect and install `.apk`, `.xapk`, `.apks`, and `.apkm` files, our App requires explicit permissions to access your device storage. Depending on your Android version, one or more of the following permissions may be requested:

  • Manage All Files (`MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`) — Android 11 and above: Required to scan your device's storage to locate installer packages and safely extract `.xapk` bundles (which contain separate `.apk` and `.obb` expansion files) for installation.
  • Read & Write External Storage (`READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE` / `WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`) — Android 10 and below: Required on older Android versions to locate and process installer packages stored on your device.

In all cases, we only access files directly related to app installation (`.apk`, `.xapk`, `.apks`, and `.apkm` files). We do not upload, share, or process your personal files such as photos, videos, or documents. All installation processing happens locally on your device and no file content is transmitted to our servers.

C. Data Retention

We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide our services:

  • Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports are retained for 90 days by default;
  • Firebase Analytics: Usage data is retained for 2 months by default;
  • Support correspondence: Emails and other support communications are retained for 12 months from the date of last contact, after which they are deleted.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve our App and Services:

  • Core Operations: To detect and install packages successfully on your device;
  • Performance Analysis: To identify bugs, crash reports, and improve installation speeds;
  • Customer Support: To respond to your queries when you contact us directly.

We do not use any collected data for advertising, user profiling, or any purpose other than those stated above.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share anonymized or technical information with the following third-party service providers who assist us in operating our App:

A. Google Firebase Crashlytics

Used to collect crash reports and performance metrics to help us identify and fix technical issues. Data collected includes device model, OS version, and crash logs. This service is enabled by default but can be disabled from within the App on first launch.

Firebase Privacy Policy

B. Google Firebase Analytics

Used to monitor anonymized app usage metrics such as active users, session duration, and feature engagement. This helps us understand how the App is used and where we can improve. This service is optional and requires your explicit consent on first launch.
